Rotterdam, Hamburg, Istanbul 1983

Ata Güner,

My name is Ata Güner, and I am a composer and musician with a passion for creating music that enhances the experience of performing arts. I have been playing drums and synthesizer since I was 16 years old, and my love for music led me to explore the world of composition.

I began composing music for performing arts in Istanbul, working with companies such as Babylon, Oyun Atolyesi and garajistanbul. From there, I moved to Hamburg and continued to develop my skills and refine my sound as freelance musician. Eventually, I settled in Amsterdam, where I continued to work with various theatre productions such as Theater Rotterdam, Frascati, ITA and some individual artists.

Over the years, I have developed a unique style that blends live instruments with digital technology to create immersive soundscapes that complement and enhance the narrative of each performance. I draw inspiration from a wide range of musical genres and use my extensive knowledge of music theory and production techniques to create music that is both emotive and engaging.

Currently based in Rotterdam, I continue to work throughout Europe as a composer and musician. My work with theatre and movie productions has been recognized for its emotional depth and versatility, and I am proud to have collaborated with some of the most talented artists in the field. Whether I am creating music for a play, a dance performance, or a film, my goal is always the same: to craft a sound that captivates audiences and brings the performance to life.

As a composer and musician, I am deeply committed to using music to elevate the art of theatre and film. Whether I am collaborating with a small, independent theatre company or a major cultural institution, my goal is always to create music that enhances the performance and draws audiences into the story. With a focus on innovation and emotional depth, I continue to explore new avenues for musical expression, and I am excited to see where my journey will take me next.
